Q: |
I
get a "Requested file not found" message when I try to load a file. What could
be causing this to occur? |
| A: |
This
message is usually associated with an incorrect path to the requested file. Check the
"DocFile" value path in the associated HTML page to ensure that this is pointing
to the requested file. The location must be accessible by Brava! Server, preferably by an
NT or NFS share. UNC paths are supported. |
|
| Q: |
I
get a "Connection Refused" message when I try to load a file. What could be
causing this to occur? |
| A: |
This
message can be generated if the Brava! Server is not running or if the
"clientport" value in the jmyriadserver.ini file is not identical to the
"ViewServerSocket" value in the HTML page. |
|
| Q: |
I
get an "Unsupported file format" message when I try to load a file. What could
be causing this to occur? |
| A: |
You
have requested to view a file format that is not supported by the Brava! (jMYRIAD) product. |
|
| Q: |
I
get an "Applet cannot be initialized" message. What could be causing this to
occur? |
| A: |
If
you are behind
a firewall or if you are using
a proxy server,
DNS server may not be able to resolve the IP address. Use the IP address instead of the server
name in "ViewServerHost" entry in HTML page. |
|
| Q: |
How
do I dynamically create HTML pages? |
| A: |
It
may not be practical to set up an HTML page for every file, so you can use a form page and
scripting to automatically generate the page for you.
Reference the 6.0 Sample CGI Script in the Brava! Client/Server Installation Guide
for an example of the scripting required to create the HTML page. |
|
| Q: |
How
can I tell what version of Brava! Server I am using? |
| A: |
This
information is contained in the "resource_en_US.properties" file located in the
Brava! Server directory. This properties file contains text resources and should not be
modified. |
|
| Q: |
How
can I tell what version of Brava! (jMYRIAD) client I am using? |
| A: |
This
information is displayed by opening the Help, About Brava! viewer from the pull menu of the
Brava! viewer. |
|
| Q: |
I
want Brava! (jMYRIAD) to launch the applet in the main browser window. How can I do this? |
| A: |
In the applet code, replace ViewerAppletFrame with
ViewerAppletPanel.
If you do this you will have the convenience of having fewer windows open, but you will
loose the following features due to menu bar restrictions:
- Print Margin Correction
- Rotate to Specific Orientation (0, 90, 180, 270)
- Help\Contents
- ISO Print Banners and Watermarks controls
- Redraw Command

| Q: |
I can not view any files? |
| A: |
If you have Internet Explorer (IE) 4.0 make sure you have service pack 1
installed. If
someone has IE 4.0 with no IE service pack installed (in IE's Help About it will show
version 4.72.2106.8 and not reference any SP), they won't be able to view files on
DrawingRoom.Net (or any Brava! configuration using servlets). They need to update their IE to at least IE SP 1. If they have an IE SP installed, their IE Help
About will have a line indicating "Update Versions: ;SP1;" or ";SP2;". They can download the newer version at www.microsoft.com/downloads. |
