SCOTTSDALE, Arizona—May 1, 2007 Informative Graphics
Corporation (IGC), a leader in content visualization, secure
publishing and collaboration technology announced today the
release of the newest member of its Redact-It™ product line:
Redact-It for Kofax® Ascent Capture®. The Redact-It for Kofax
module enables the automated removal of privacy information like
social security numbers, phone numbers and other sensitive data
as part of the Ascent Capture batch process.
Regulations such as HIPAA and the Privacy Act have made
protecting privacy information universally necessary and
increasingly important. Conversely, regulations like the Freedom
of Information Act and Sarbanes Oxley require government
agencies, financial institutions and more to make more
information readily available to the public. Redact-It for Kofax
makes it easy to both protect and share information, making it
possible to meet these seemingly contradictory requirements.
Working within the Kofax batch process, Redact-It receives a
scanned image from Ascent Capture and completely removes the
image data from the selected redaction zones and, if selected,
the associated OCR text as well. This means the redacted content
is irretrievable. Redact-It then releases both a redacted and
non-redacted rendition of the file to the locations specified in
the Kofax release script. For example, the redacted version may
be placed on a website while the non-redacted version is placed
in the ECM repository.
