Informative Graphics Releases Intelligent Redaction Software For The Desktop

Easy-To-Use Redact-It Desktop Added To Redaction Software Product Line

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona — February 5, 2008 Informative Graphics Corporation (IGC), a leader in content visualization, collaboration and redaction technology announced today the release of its Redact-It™ Desktop software. Redact-It intelligently removes sensitive content and privacy information like social security numbers, names and phone numbers before making documents available to a wider audience. Redact-It dramatically reduces the time it takes to redact, review and release documents for public records access, eDiscovery and any other process involving sharing confidential or privacy information.

The latest addition to the Redact-It product family, Redact-It Desktop is the first low cost desktop application offering the ability to find and redact information within a document using pattern recognition. Redact-It includes many built-in macros to redact privacy information, including a person’s name, phone numbers, social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, credit card numbers, birth dates and more. Or users can create custom search macros and scripts for specific needs like account or ID numbers. Redact-It also includes defined area redaction (drawing a box around the area to be redacted), adding a unique “peek through” feature that allows users to unblock areas within the redacted zone. This way an entire page can be redacted with only the relevant area or areas visible.

Key Redact-It Desktop features include:
  • Redaction of PDF and TIFF documents
  • Intelligently redact by text, text list, pattern match or template
  • Review and modify redactions before finalizing
  • Use Redactup™ template for repetitious, standard redactions
  • Save redactions to a new PDF or TIFF rendition with Bates numbers and/or watermarks
  • Redaction reasons are displayed, printable and optionally logged per document
“The need for electronic redaction is growing across every industry,” said Gary Heath, President and CEO of IGC. “Government agencies and courts; pharmaceutical, petrochemical, legal and healthcare industries; and any company that needs to share documents containing proprietary or privacy content not relevant to the audience need redaction. We created Redact-It Desktop to round out our redaction solution, making it easy and efficient to confidently share documents.”

A 15 day trial version is available at: www.redact-it.com/download/.

Other members of the Redact-It family include Redact-It Enterprise Server for batch and automated redaction as part of workflow processes and Redact-It for Kofax® Ascent Capture®, which works directly within the Kofax batch process to remove the data from selected redaction zones with associated OCR text, typically as files are bulk loaded into a document repository.
