Press Release
Informative Graphics® Introduces Free Brava!® Reader For
Sharing CAD Drawings, Images And Office Documents
Supports Published Content Sealed Format (CSF) Files with
Visual Rights®
PHOENIX, Arizona November 12, 2003 -- Informative
Graphics Corporation (IGC), a leader in Web-document and
collaboration technology, announces the release of its
Windows-based, Brava!® Reader software (desktop executable and
ActiveX control), which enables sharing of CAD design drawings,
images and document content. Brava! Reader will be available for
distribution free-of-charge.
Brava! Reader is used in tandem with IGC's publishing
products, such as the Net-It® Now client-side publisher and the
soon-to-be-released Net-It CAD publishing plug-ins. These
publishing products are used to generate, compress and
distribute CAD drawings, documents and images as "content sealed
format" (CSF) files, which are readable by the Brava! Reader and
can be distributed by email and web pages or used with content
management systems. Brava! Reader even honors all published
hyperlinks and bookmarks and allows for full text searching.
CSF, similar in concept to Adobe PDF, is a universal format
that is a replica of the source file, including images,
graphics, layout and more. The files are not only encrypted,
they allow IGC's Visual Rights® persistent security options,
such as password protection, to be added by the publisher. All
Visual Rights settings are honored by the Brava! Reader.

The company will soon release the first of its Net-It CAD
plug-ins, which create CSF files directly from native CAD
software, such as AutoCAD, Microstation, Inventor, Solid Edge,
SolidWorks, and more. With more than a decade of experience
designing CAD-based viewing technology, IGC created an
uncluttered, intuitive interface for Brava! Reader in both an
embeddable desktop application and ActiveX control. The Reader
is based on IGC's proven Brava technology, deployed worldwide on
most project collaboration portals for construction and design
projects. Brava! Reader supports all CAD features maintained by
the plug-ins, including CAD attributes, layering, scaled
plotting and measurement with geometry snapping, as well as text
searching and hyperlinks.
IGC plans to offer a variety of client- and server-based CSF
publishing products. "We are executing on our vision to provide
software for secure downstream distribution and use of CAD and
document content," said Gary Heath, CEO at IGC. "Brava! Reader is
a very important piece of this vision. Unlike other
publish-to-view offerings, it is built to handle CAD and
documents, and is fast and simple to use," he added.
