Martin County, Florida Deploys Informative Graphics’ Brava!®
For Documentum Enterprise Visualization Server
Multi-Format View, Annotation Regarded as “Integral Part” of
Overall Document Management Solution
SCOTTSDALE, Arizona - June 8, 2004 — Informative
Graphics® Corporation (IGC), a leader in Web-document and
collaboration technology, announced today that its Brava!®
Enterprise for Documentum visualization server has been deployed
by Martin County, Florida as part of the initial phase of its
“automated agenda” project to streamline document information
management for the Martin County Commission and administrative
staff.
The Martin County Commission meets regularly to discuss
pertinent County business and make numerous decisions affecting
County constituents. The flow of information through the
County’s various offices and staff members was hindered by a
lack of document standards and the ability to make information
from a variety of sources readily available to decision-makers
at each level of government, including the Commission board
itself. The County Commissioners’ “Agenda” project is designed
to improve information flow by publishing document submission
recommendations to vendors and customers who do business with
Martin County.
With Brava! Enterprise, the County’s ability to work with a
vast number of different file formats is greatly enhanced.
“Being able to open, make notes and changes to nearly any
document type, no matter who generated the original or what
software they used, is a huge issue that has caused a number of
headaches in the past,” said Kevin Kryzda, CIO for Martin
County. “With Brava, we can work with just about anything – CAD,
engineering documents, and a whole host of other formats – as
part of our Documentum management system. It works beautifully,”
he added.
Brava! Enterprise is thin-client, web server software that
provides view and markup of CAD drawings, circuit schematics,
images and office documents. Brava's user interface is clean and
simple and its features include a full set of viewing and markup
tools, the ability to burn-in markups and hide areas of the
drawing or document (redaction or block-out), scalable printing
with watermarks and banners and geometry-based measurements.
Brava’s non-streaming architecture can handle a large number
of internal and external users without requiring a server farm
or burdening a network. Brava's SDK enables integration to any
web- or desktop-based vaulting system. Informative Graphics
maintains integrations to several ECM and PLM systems.
“Content visualization is often taken for granted, but for
large companies and government, the problems associated with
sharing and managing disparate formats centrally are
significant,” said Gary Heath, President and CEO at IGC. “Brava
addresses this key aspect of document management, adding value
through ease-of-use, seamless integration and extending security
capabilities for authors and administrators.”
