Informative Graphics Joins Electronic Discovery
Reference Model (EDRM)

Content Management and Viewing Technology Leader Participates in XML Section to Help Determine Standards for Electronic Discovery

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – July 21, 2010 – Informative Graphics Corporation (IGC), a leader in viewing, collaboration and redaction technology, today announced that it has joined the Extensible Markup Language (XML) Project of The Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), an industry group created to establish practical guidelines and standards for electronic discovery (eDiscovery).  Joining the EDRM offers IGC the opportunity to work alongside several of its partners, including CT Summation, Clearwell Systems, EMC and IBM eDiscovery, as well as other vendors and individuals in the space on a project that benefits the entire eDiscovery community.

IGC has been avidly following EDRM since its inception five years ago. The goal of the EDRM XML Project is to provide a standard, generally accepted XML schema to facilitate the movement of electronically stored information (ESI) from one step of the electronic discovery process to the next, from one software program to the next, and from one organization to the next. IGC, a leader in viewing, annotation, redaction and publishing software, brings its expertise in file formats, strong XML knowledge, and overall engineering creativity to the team.

IGC President and CEO Gary Heath remarked, “EDRM is highly respected in the legal industry and garners great participation from leaders in the eDiscovery field on its projects. We are pleased and honored to lend our unique perspective and insights to the XML project. EDRM is driving the future of eDiscovery and our engineers are excited to be a part of such a grassroots source effort.”

According to George Socha, co-founder of EDRM and president of Socha Consulting LLC, “We are pleased to welcome IGC to the EDRM and the XML Project.  For three years, this group has produced excellent results in determining standards for XML in eDiscovery.  Now with IGC and its technical talent on board, the section will be further invigorated and have the resources necessary to expand its work and its impact on the legal/corporate arena.”
