Question: What is causing a docspec error when I try to save a markup?

Please make sure the dar file has been installed. See “Section 3.3 Installing the DAR File” in the installation guide for more information. If the dar file is already installed, make sure the WebtopURL and WebtopURLToBravaJSPPage parameters have the correct values.

Below is an example of parameters from the brava_parameters.properties file located at \webapps\webtop_alias\custom\config\brava: WebtopURL=http://servername:port/webtop_alias //Url used to login to webtop WebtopURLToBravaJSPPages=http://servername:port/webtop_alias/custom/brava/component/markup/ //url to jsp pages on the webtop app server

Question: Why Am I receiving an error when I select on Annotate?

Configure the bravaconfig.properties file Based on your setup, the bravaconfig.properties file, located at custom/strings/com/infograph, needs to be modified for your environment. The file's contents include:

brava_config_location=C:\\Program Files\\Apache Software Foundation\\Tomcat 6.0\\webapps\\webtop\\custom\\config\\brava\\brava_parameters.properties

This file points the Brava integration to the location of the parameter list that tells Brava how it should launch. This allows customers to use one properties file to control multiple Webtop instances running Brava off of one configuration file. The path in this file may need to be altered for the correct location to the brava_parameters.properties file

This answer is right from the installation guide Section 3.0 “Configuring your Installation”

Question: How do I disable formats from being launched in Brava?

Configure the “No Launch” Properties File (From the install guide Section 3.0 “Configuring your installation”) A custom properties file is located in the webapp//custom/strings/com/infograph folder called bravaformats.properties. Webtop will check this file when the menus are initialized. Based on the formats found in this properties file, the 'annotation' feature will be disabled if the format is found to match a file type listed in this file. The bravaformat.properties file is formatted as follows: formats= For example: formats=avi,mpg,quicktime,zip,java,win32shrlib,unknown There is no limit to how many formats you can have in this file as long as they are named uniquely. This file should be copied in during the class file copy (outlined above) for the integration installation. The current default formats restricted from annotation include: quicktime mpg avi java (jar) zip win32shrlib (plugins, windows shared library) unknown Note that because this file is read each time the menu is initialized, altering it does not require a restart of the webapp server for Webtop to see your changes.

Question: Where are markups saved in the Brava for Webtop integration?

Annotations are stored as a dm_note object. When the user saves a markup, we create a user folder in the Resources cabinet and save the markup file within the user folder. The markup file is our format (IGC_markup) with a unique r_object_id. The IGC format is created when the docapp/dar is installed which can be located in the Brava webtop directory. The markup files are related to the parent_id as dm_relation with the relationship_name = DM_ANNOTATE. When a new markup is created and saved the markup file will have its own relationship to the parent object.
