General Questions
Question: I am getting a 6001, 5008, or 5009 error. What can I do?
Please go to the following directory: C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\RunTime
In this folder, there should be a folder named 10. Move, do not delete, this folder somewhere so it no longer exists in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\RunTime directory.
Now try to reinstall the product and verify that upon the start of Install Shield, the folder 10 gets recreated. If everything works correctly now, you can move the old ‘10’ folder to c:\.

Question: What's
unique about Brava?
Brava is clean and simple. Very efficient for both documents
and drawings, it offers a single, unified
user interface that requires no training
to use. It boasts excellent fidelity and
supports rich content concepts like text
search, layers, and block attributes.
Brava views most any native format so
no conversion is needed, though all popular
neutral formats— like PDF, XPS, DWF and
our secure CSF—are also supported. Brava
also handles more concurrent users with
fewer servers than competitive offerings.
Finally, Brava helps maintain security
over your content through features like
exporting to CSF with Visual Rights, view
only access options (no annotation), standard
HTTP/HTTPS communication between client
and server (no security configuration
changes required), and in-memory client-side
processing (nothing is left on the client
machine). The client is web-served, so
admin doesn't have to spend time installing
software on every machine.

Question: I have installed Brava! Desktop, but cannot launch the application.
When using a standalone license of Brava! Desktop, an Internet connection is required the first time the application is run in order to register the installed copy of the software. After this initial (automatic) registration, an Internet connection is no longer required in order to use a stand alone license of the product.
Make sure Brava! Desktop was installed using a user that has Admin rights on the machine.

Question: Why can’t I edit another user’s markups?
A markup can only be edited by the user that created the markup, although other users can open it for review and add markups, the new markups will be editable. Consolidating the markups will retain the original user.

Question: “This format is not licensed. Please contact Informative Graphics.”
The license that Brava! Desktop was installed with does not support the file type that you are trying to open. A different license will need to be obtained in order to view the file.

Question: “License already registered”
If you get this message after changing computers or network cards please contact Informative Graphics, to have the license reassigned to the new PC.
If this is happening on the same PC, that had no hardware changes please check the following:
Brava! Desktop is serialized to the MAC ID (physical address of the network card). If the MAC ID is no longer present, you will receive this error. This error indicates that the license key that you are using has a different MAC ID (physical address of the network card) than the computer. It could be that when the software was installed it registered to the wireless card, docking station NIC, or any device that was connected that had a MAC ID. If one of these devices is turned off, the software will no longer function. You can either turn that device back on or if the device is no longer present, then we will need to reassign the license to the onboard network card, which should always be on and present.

Question: Incorrect font density or style displayed in a DWG file.
Some DWG files are created using proprietary AutoCAD fonts. If those fonts are not present on the machine, Brava! Desktop will use substitutes. This may cause faded display of fonts, or non visible font. to correct this, make sure the reference path to the necessary AutoCAD font is present in the “Set reference file paths” under the options menu.

Question: PDF, DWG, TIF, CGM etc… files are not displayed correctly, come up blank, or produce an “invalid file” error.
This indicates that there may be a problem with a loader, and may require engineering time to fix. Please send a screenshot of the output or error, and the original file to support@infograph.com for testing.

Question: DWG reference files are not loading.
Make sure the reference files are in the same folder as the main file.

Question: When printing to a scale the printed output is wrong.
Brava reads the scale from the file. When making changes under the scale tab in the print dialogue make sure to account for the original scale the drawing is in.

Question: When measuring a drawing the values come incorrect or the measure line is grayed out.
In some instances when Brava is installed under a different user account with admin rights, and is then utilized by a limited user this error will occur when launching Brava. In this case, uninstall the application, elevate the user’s rights to admin, reinstall the application, then demote the user’s rights.
